Photographic Friendship - Scrap it with a Song DT Pop Gals

It's February and they're in the mood for love over at Scrap It With a Song. They've got a whole month of romantic tunes to add to the playlist and spark some creativity in your scrapbook.

This weeks song is Prince's - Purple Rain

Here is what I a made of it!
I have to admit I struggled with the song this week.  I found it hard to find lyrics that I could use.
I eventually decided to use the word 'Friendship' as used various photos of my gorgeous grandson which have been waiting to be scrapped and called it 'Photographic Friendship'.

I decided to go with a small lettered title as I generally use large alphas for my title

Close Ups

My grandson has had a relationship from the camera from the day he was born, mainly thanks to myself being 'enamoured' with him.  I have a whole host of photographs of him waiting to scrap because I cannot help taking snaps of him.

I also used a colour challenge for Color Stories Inspiration no: #60 - see details below
I used the following:
Evidence: Big Flower, Hearts, Layers, Add Icing (sparkly brad & sparkly houndstooth paper)
Testimony: Add hearts to your journaling spot

Products used:

Echo Park - For the Record 2
Patterned Paper - Lazy Daisy
Patterned Paper - Notions
Element Stickers - Journaling Spo/Take Lots of Photos/You are Special to Me
Alpha Stickers  - Flower Tag/Orange and White mini alphas

My Minds Eye - Laundry Line - Natural Strength Houndstooth Paper

Lovely Time - Mulitiple Challenges

This is a layout I created using the following challenges:
I used: Frames and Distressing as evidence and frame your story as testimony
     -----------
Childs Play Challenges - Art Supply Challenge - Doilies
 -----------
Clear it Out Tuesday - Use two or more ribbons on your project
-----------
Frosted Designs - Use bold colours and bold patterns on a card, layout or project
-----------

Additional Photos:

I painted the tree (but not to carfully) as I knew I was going to heat emboss over the top it.  I used La Blanche & Ranger Dylusions stamps to add texture to the trunk and green part of the tree.
I used a Glitz transparancy as a frame and had yellow lace ribbon just peeking out of the back it.
Ranger Liquid Pearls was dotted on Maya Road blossoms.
Distressed edges of cardstock then rubbed gold paint dabber on edges, I also dabbed onto red alphas to distress.

I used the following products to put my layout together:
Bazzill Bling cardstock - White
Doilies (Lakeland I think)
Maya Road Sheer Collection - Blossoms - Black
Tanda Creative - Mini Birds Grab Bag/Tree
Clear embossing powder
American Crafts - Thickers - Delight - Red

Christmas Cheer - Colour Stories Inspiration #56

This is the second layout I have done for Colour Stories Inspiration #56

When I was selecting photos for the colour challenge I couldnt choose between the two so I scrapped the one of my grandson playing with my camera for the Scrap it with a Song design team challenge. Find it here

The photograph for my second layout I used is of my son and was taken when he was about 4.  I think the black and white photo really stands out against the colourful background.  He looks so sweet (shame they don't stay that way)

A closer view on some of the details:
I used my Cricut to cut these letter tags out.
I made a little envelope out of vellum

Evidence:  Dashed Lines, String, Dangle Something
Testimony: Translucent Story Holder

I used the following products for this layout:

MME - So Sophie - Anything for You - Reliable Red Paper
Windsor & Newton  - Gesso
Quick Quotes - Clips & Tags - Irresistable - Cherish Tag
Range Ink - Jet Black
Tsuikineko - Dew Drop - Brilliance Ink Pad - Pearlescent Sky Blue
Vellum
MME Tag Embellie - You have such a Boyish Charm'
Scrap Cardstock - for letter tags
Bakers Twine
Tag - unknown
Crafters Companion - Spray & Sparkle - Irridescent
Card Candi - Yellow

I hope you enjoyed looking at my layout.

Inspiration

It's funny when inspiration strikes you, normally when you arent looking for it.

I just thought I'd share this with you.

We were watching TV, I am pretty sure it was the alibi channel and the adverts came in followed by programne promos.

Then this image come up and I got my husband to pause it to take a photo of it.
As soon as I saw it I thought that would be cool to use on a layout.

So I am going to use this idea soon and I will upload the result....so stay tuned.

Bye for now
